What a Difference a Decade Makes

Short post about age.

When I turned 30 I remember waiting for something to happen. I didn't know what but I figured something life changing would happen.

Nothing.

Now, almost 10 years later and it's a whole new ball game.

Basically 40 gives and takes.

Here's your extra 40 pounds and in exchange I'll take your eyesight.

Blergh.

Life is going to be about 'where the hell are my glasses' and dieting.

40's the new 30, my ass.

Cindy, age is just a number! What matters is what you make of it :P

I'm looking at 40, and that's not just a cute little segue into the fact that I made an eye appt. before I have to do my next driver's license recert. Ugh.

I absolutely agree with nath! I am almost thirty and I find that I am also waiting for something to happen (which never does). In search for the adventure of a lifetime and inspired by Hester Browne's "The Little Lady Agency" books, I have created the Life with a Drop of Honey series, which is dedicated to spicing up my life. I think you should stop waiting and do something unpredictable to spice up yours as well!

C2 - Oh, yeah, *cough* 40 is VERY MUCH the NEW 30!!

Off to find my reading glasses ;)

Nath - yep, I need to own it and re-create myself. I've been wearing this outer layer for a bit too long. I need to set fresh goals and have plans. I haven't had a plan in so long I cringe if someone asks me to set something up.
'What? I have to do something?'

Amy - I have to say I'm glad I'm not alone - my two best buds turned 40 the past few months and discovering that the rapid loss of my 20/20 eyesight was not unusual had me calm down a bit. Just a bit.

firepages - I'll be dropping in to catch up with your blog over the next bit so will keep an eye out!
