I'll try and take a better video of Amber getting around but here she is finding her way down from her food dish and then down the basement stairs. How cute is she!!
And yes, you can hear Bob in the back ground with the saw running ;)

Better lighting to see how Amber finds those pesky stairs. Notice Emma watching and probably wondering what the hell is going on. My ugly kitchen floors and wonderful plywood floors in the hallway are also highlighted and yep, that's Cody poking his head out as Amber makes her way towards the door.
I was told by the vet that animals adjust much better to going blind than losing their sense of smell. Once the sense of smell is gone, it's much harder for the animal to cope.

That's neat to see how she still knows her way around. She's just cautious.
I just got another video done where you can see the way she stretches her toes to find the steps. I'm still trying to get it downloaded to youtube - takes an hour!!

What a sweetie Bob is...moving stuff out of her way. Awww. :o) And cats are amazing! Just make sure her whiskers stay in good shape - they're like a cat's curb-feelers. LOL Especially important for Ms. Amber.
She seems to have adjust well and I guess it helps that she already knew her way around. Seems like she knows where she's going :P
Oh Poor Amber!!!!! But she does seem to be adjusting well doesn't she? Animals are amazing!
Hi Cindy!
I came by on the TBR Challenge link to see what you (may have) read and watched the adorable video of Amber. She's so sweet. Its wonderful to see her adapt like that. :)
Christine - so sorry about the TBR challenge - I haven't read a full book since the beginning of the year. In a complete slump. I thought if I had a goal of reading a TBR book I could get it done. I'm still reading the one I picked from last month!

I haven't been blogging much lately and I missed this post. What a sweet kitty. Our dog who lived to be 17 was blind the last 10 years of his life and it never slowed him down. He got around by his sense of smell totally. The vet is right, they need their sense of smell more than sight. We had to keep a tight watch on him because he would fall down stair or run into the back door. But overall he was a happy guy.
I'm so happy to see that Amber is adjusting. What a beautiful cat!
