Not To Be Out Done

Not to be out done by Nicole and her precious Gambit or Kristie and her 'too cute for her paws' Zina, I must, must, must post some pictures of my girls.

I was telling Nicole over at her blog that my cats are notorious for knowing when the camera is about to catch them doing something cute. There's that noise it makes while powering up. Bam! They stop acting all cute and do everything they can to not be in a picture.

Well, I got 'em just now. I woke Emma up by accident because yeah, she heard me coming but I manage to snap a gorgeous shot. That said, I have to show you the pictures of her where she can only get one eye open and has that 'holy shit! What do you want!' look on her face.

'Are you kidding me!?' 'You want to take a picture of me now! I'm napping you moron!!'

'Oh, wait, make sure you get my good side.'

Can you find the cat in this picture?

Aww, her little toes are so precious. Don't panic about the garbage bag. I have panicked and Bob has told me to calm down. The cat will know if they run out of oxygen. Still gives me pause and yet, she's curled up so far in there now that you can't even see her. I think she is afraid I will try and take another picture of her. On that note, I once picked up the bedding from out room for the laundry only to hear a distressed cry. Amber had crawled into the middle of the pile. When I am not so tired I will tell you about how I am sure she has become a totally different cat in the last few years. I understand what they mean by cat's have nine lives but it does make me wonder if it can also mean a new soul has entered your cat. She has pulled some funny stuff in the last little bit that is so out of character that Bob and I have joked she must be a new incarnation.

Okay, I'm exhausted. A mix of extra strength Midol and seeing the cats snoozing - I'm off for a nap!

Aww........too cute!

Gambit must be up to something, because he's being incredibly cute today in places where I could snap pics. Or he senses that his sneezing is getting worse and a vet visit may be in his future next week... Hrrumph.

Wow - you have a real menagerie! Whats that? 2 cats and 3 dogs? How do they all get along?

Nicole - I hope Gambit gets better soon! Poor thing.

Kristie - we have 2 cats and 2 dogs. We used to have three cats but the orignal two were Bob's cats and they were old and they lasted to 15 and 16 years of age. After Winston passed Bob only wanted to have the two cats. He is the litter cleaner so he sets the number. That said, he has been talking about getting another cat. I think I could easily have three to four cats.

I will only ever have one dog at a time if I get over ruled. It's not the dogs fault that they are not exactly 'world broken' but now that they are old they don't knock people over as much. Still I get antsy around people who are afraid of dogs. My mom is one of those people and apparently are dogs are frightening to look at or to see hurtling through space at you. Living with them you know just how funny, and dumb and weird they can be so you don't get how people can be afraid of them but, people have said just the look of Rocky (black lab) is scary.

I look at Rocky and see a dopey lovable pup. ::shrug::

As for getting along. Amber rules the house (orange cat), Rocky should get respect but Cody is a suck so he gets his due and Emma is at the bottom of the pile because she gets intimidated by the dogs. They don't actually have to interact much because the cats have the upstairs and the dogs have the downstairs and they all get us when they need us.
