New Host

Just a head's up that Angie W (added link to sidebar!) will be hosting Keishon's TBR Challenges for a while.

The idea is to read as many books as you feel like from your TBR pile within the month with a certain theme. This month is 'pure' contemporary romance. That means, try to stay away from paranormals or romantic suspense books. I'm a bit worried because I didn't even know that straight contemporaries were written anymore! Hopefully, Shannon McKenna will fill the bill.

Then I will troll through the pile and see what else I can drag up! Hey, there is an old book called Lucky's Lady. At least, I think that is what it is called. Oh, I have some Nora Roberts books that are on the shelf. Perfect!

On that note, she is looking for suggestions for the upcoming months. I'm considering asking for a Balogh month but I think most people have read her.

Selfish thing I am.

Oh, right, I think I've probably got some old Noras in the TBR that would qualify. Hmmm, or not, since they're probably all reissues of series books. Would that count? Probably not. Need to keep looking!

I think anything that could be labelled a romantic comedy is also most likely to be a contemp.

Non sequitor: I haven't read Balogh and I have no desire to do so. But then she writes historicals, no?

Rosario - I think anything that can be called a contemporary works. That's how I am playing it! Anything that gets me to read from the TBR pile even if I am doing it wrong is a definite boon!

Jay - oh yes, romantic comedy - I wonder if I have any in the TBR pile? Balogh is definitely historical and as far as I know, she is the Queen of historicals - next to Heyer (never read her either).
